Air France will be operating an Airbus A380 between London and Paris this summer.
Yes, you read that right!, Air France is offering seats on one of it’s three Airbus A380 super jumbo jets between the two capitals on selected days this summer.
The flights will operate between 12th June and 30th August and only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. See the Air France website for specifics.
The Air France A380 will be assigned to flight numbers AF1981 (Departing London Heathrow, 12:50) and AF1980 (Departing Paris Charles de Gaulle, 10:05) during all Summer weekends from Saturday to Monday, plus all Fridays in July.
This is great opportunity to sample the A380 for this limited period :
Seats start at just £80 return inc tax for economy seats and £280 for business class.
First class seats are not being offered.
It is thought Air France is operating the flights in order to increase their aircraft utilisation.
What do you think ?
Would you be tempted to sample a weekend break to Paris on the A380 or would you rather :
- Let the train take the strain ?
- Fly low cost? (but £80 inc taxes and charges for a weekend isn’t bad is it?!)
- Buy British and take your chances with BA ?

I have booked a return flight even though I recently flew on Singapore Air A380 to Sydney (so thats 4 planes). I think Air France should promote this
and have a few more flights.
How can you beat £80 return on a superjumbo operated by Air France. I have air miles with BA but I just don’t know when I would be able to use them with these strikes (yet again… come on Mr. Walsh)

Thanks Tony,
Did you find good availability at 80quid or what it the classic low cost trick “prices from” ?
Enjoy your flights !

There is still good availability for the seats. They have a special booking page which only shows the A380 flights, though its only on Fri-sun and you may not get a return for the dates you want as the seats are getting sold out.
However, Air France will allow you to book an A380 on one way and get a different flight back to suite your requirements. Though your non A380 flight will be at regular rates.
I paid £78.87 for a return of 10 days. The same trip on BA using my exec air miles was £86 and 9000 miles. So yes if you can find the flights that you want it is a very good deal.
