Time for a bit of audience participation (Thanks in advance).
In case you missed it, late in March Opodo got the highest score in a usability test of travel websites. At their best, airline and travel agency websites can be inspiring, useful, money saving, time saving and friendly.
On the flipside, Airline News wants to hear your biggest gripes against travel websites. What annoys you most ?
We will add your comments to this post.
Here’s a few to get you started:
- Advertising (e.g sending you an Email) fares that don’t exist.
- Ticking boxes on the booking form that you might not want ticked, email subscription, overpriced insurance for example
- Only revealing a costly credit card charge / fuel supplement / wheelchair levy / whatever next when you are so far through the booking you are not inclined to stop now.
- Sending irrelevant emails for a below average online store (OK that’s only Ryanair or?)
- Flashing banners telling you to BOOK NOW, as if there isn’t a promotion on every day
Most annoying things about airline websites according to comments on this post :
- It has to be the ones who send you a “save 50%”, “all seats reduced”, email the day after you booked.
- Trying to sell me a credit card, I JUST WANT A FLIGHT.
