Air France will be operating an Airbus A380 between London and Paris this summer.
Yes, you read that right!, Air France is offering seats on one of it’s three Airbus A380 super jumbo jets between the two capitals on selected days this summer.

The flights will operate between 12th June and 30th August and only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. See the Air France website for specifics.

The Air France A380 will be assigned to flight numbers AF1981 (Departing London Heathrow, 12:50) and AF1980 (Departing Paris Charles de Gaulle, 10:05) during all Summer weekends from Saturday to Monday, plus all Fridays in July.

This is great opportunity to sample the A380 for this limited period :

Seats start at just £80 return inc tax for economy seats and £280 for business class.
First class seats are not being offered.

It is thought Air France is operating the flights in order to increase their aircraft utilisation.

What do you think ?

Would you be tempted to sample a weekend break to Paris on the A380 or would you rather :

  • Let the train take the strain ?
  • Fly low cost? (but £80 inc taxes and charges for a weekend isn’t bad is it?!)
  • Buy British and take your chances with BA ?

bmi company rewards offer

Posted on 25 November 2009 by Airline News

bmi Company Rewards Scheme

bmi Company Rewards is a loyalty scheme for businesses who book flights with bmi, and do not have a current commercial contract in place. Each time an employee of the company flies with bmi, they’ll earn points, which can be exchanged for rewards. Membership is free and the scheme is refreshingly simple – there is no contract to sign or minimum spend level to reach before earning reward points.

Why businesses choose Company Rewards?

With one point equal to £1 (when exchanging for bmi flight vouchers), Company Rewards is one of the most generous loyalty schemes around.

- Points are awarded on bmi operated flights across all fare types
- Points can be exchanged for:
* e-voucher (to spend on bmi flights)
* cash
* charity donation
- Immediate online account access
- Receive regular updates with all the latest news and exclusive offers from bmi

Plus, as a bonus reward, companies spending over £50,000 per year flying with bmi receive a 4% annual cash bonus.

And individual travellers can still receive benefits when they join the bmi frequent flyer scheme, Diamond Club, so they’ll earn rewards for themselves as well as you.

Flight Simulator Gift Experience

Posted on 24 September 2009 by Airline News

737 Flight Simulator Experience

737 Flight Simulator Experience

If you want to book a flight simulator experience in England, here is a great idea – With this package you get a full half hour hands on flying experience in the Boeing 737 simulator and a further half hour as a passenger.
Here’s a couple of reviews of the flight simulator experience : (Click for more)

“The day started with a thorough briefing about the aircraft and its systems followed by a most enjoyable session in the simulator. The instructor was enthusiastic, supportive and clearly very knowledgeable. I found the experience challenging but exhilarating. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing to find out what it’s like to be in control of a large aircraft.”

“Great insight into how planes work. The fact that it is set in an actual front of a plane made it feel so real. We did several landings in different circumstances, for example at night, in the rain and with strong winds. You don’t realise the effect these factors have on planes until you do this experience.”

You can even take passengers on your flying experience – you can bring along 2 passengers for the flight who will be sitting in the (separate) cabin area. Minimum age is 10 years old making this a great gift idea for a budding pilot or aviation enthusiast.
